RTD’s new Union Station Transit Center is opening May 9, as the centerpiece of a bustling downtown, offering more transportation services, connections, and access than ever before. Bus service at Union Station will actually begin on Sunday, May 11.
Mark your calendars and save the date for the grand opening of our historic, iconic transit hub. Union Station Transit Center features a spacious new 22-bay underground bus concourse, light rail, free downtown bus service, Amtrak, and (soon) commuter rail-all in one convenient location. Nearby retail, residences, and parks complete the transformation.
Ribbon cutting and opening ceremony will be held at noon May 9 at 17th & Wewatta, in front of the new Wewatta Pavilion.
The grand opening celebration will happen right after that, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. along 17th between the light rail station and the historic building.
